These last two weeks have been quite the whirlwind – getting back to MN, diving back into work, trying to organize life for all the big things I want to accomplish this year, trying to be social, and of course just making time for myself. Anyone else still feel like they’re trudging through mud to make it to the end of their weeks? Sometimes it just takes a little bit longer to get back into the routine of life ya know? I’ve been trying to make extra weekend time to relax at Spyhouse – headphones plugged in and nose deep into a book. (I’m just started Goldfinch, any other recos for me?) If there’s one thing that I’ve found as I try to navigate life in a new city while trying to balance life and work, it’s that making time for yourself is one of the most important things. I’m one of those people who advocates that everyone should try to spend some time with just themselves exploring the things that they’re interested in. Just go out there and do something that makes you happy, it’s kinda awesome.
This weekend, I logged a little extra coffeeshop time, went out to Minnehaha Falls to see winter in its full effect, and spent some time at home knee-deep in recipe testing with music on full volume. It’s the little things in life. Here’s to another wonderful week!
And be sure to grab this mocktail recipe from Camille’s site – it’s all kinds of wonderful.
