It seems crazy to me that we’re already three weeks deep into the new year already. I mean, it’s been a busy few weeks while getting back into my routine, flying back to California, attending a wedding, planning for a trip to Los Angeles next week, and so much more to come in the next few months. With everything going on, I’m currently savoring the slow moments – like my new obsession with pour-over coffee. I’m really not sure why it’s taken me so long to hop on the pour-over train. I never invested in one of those Chemex coffee makers and just never really got the hype. I mean granted, I only really drink cold brew coffee, but I’ve been feeling ultra-cozy with the cloudy and crisp days here in Sacramento. But since I don’t have a coffee machine at home, I thought the idea of having hot coffee on the regular would be more challenging. I was soooo wrong. I came across this pour-over attachment at World Market the other day and it’s $6. Like what. It’s a game-changer. And then I tried a pour-over with this Cameron’s Organic Roastmaster’s Blend and ohhhhmyyygoshhh. It was so smooth and warm without being overly strong. It was perfect paired with some coconut milk and this might mean that I’m slowly but surely making my way over to Team Hot Coffee.
Speaking of little moments, let’s chat about one of my “resolutions” that I’ve kept adding to my list for years – to become a morning person. You honestly might recall several posts that I’ve written here on the site trying to chronicle different methods and tricks I was trying in order to achieve my goal. I can quite objectively say that I have very much failed at becoming a morning person so far. But, I have a new challenge for myself, and I’m calling it #21mornings. For 21 days, I’m going to get up at 7am no matter what. I’ve read a lot of studies about how it takes 21 days to form a habit, so I’m hoping that by setting forth a target number of days and sharing with everyone on Instagram that I’m doing this, I’ll be held even more accountable to my goal and actually achieve it!
